Crazy night! I went out with Christine to see Angelique Kidjo in concert at USC. We stopped in Chinatown for dinner at Hong Kong BBQ (yum!), but accidentally parked in a tow zone for the specific hours we were there! Gahhh!! The car got towed. We decided after figuring out where it was to go to USC anyways. We Taxid and ran through campus to Bovard Auditorium. Once there we explained our predicament and the ticketpeople gave us free tickets. We sat near the front! I was feet away from Angelique Kidjo, an emmy winning artist! She was AMAZING, and managed to get the crowd on its feet for most of the show. She even danced through the crowd and got us young people (and especially little kids!) on stage and dancing for her last two songs. It was easily the best show I've even seen. Angelique's words and message were powerful too: even as meltdown looms, we must stay positive and remember that each of us matters to the world, no matter our position or background. I'll remember this night forever. |
